Bureau of Police Research & Development (BPR&D) released Data on Police Organizations as on January 1, 2020

Report is published by BPR&D, annually, since 1986 . Police personnel on duty surpass sanctioned strength by 35% . No. of people getting police protection across India , reduced by 8% in 2019 as compared to 2018. West Bengal, Punjab, Bihar and Jammu and Kashmir have the maximum numbers of people getting police protection.

Narcotics Control Bureau & Indian Policy for Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic substances

  The  Narcotics Control Bureau   was set up as apex  drug  law enforcement agency with view to coordinate actions of various central/state agencies in the matters related with  drug  law in the country.   NCB under the Ministry of Home Affairs , Government of India.  The agency is tasked with combating drug trafficking and the use of illegal substances under the provisions of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act 1985. The National Policy on Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances is based on the Directive Principles, contained in Article 47 of the Indian Constitution, which direct the State to endeavour to bring about prohibition of the consumption, except for medicinal purposes, of intoxicating drugs injurious to health.
